2 most important steps when JOINING a network marketing business

So you became a mother, or you are expecting, or it was always a dream, and you decided now is the time to go for it. Regardless of your circumstances, you decided to start your own business in the network marketing industry. Now what?

Like any other millennial, you go on Facebook and start searching for groups, and you find there are hundreds of them. How do you choose? Where to go from here? What should you do? I’ll answer all these questions for you.

First things first, do you know what network and affiliate marketing are? Network marketing is creating connections with people, they become your network. For example, those with whom you went to school are part of your network. You become an affiliate marketer when you sell items or services of a brand to that network that you’ve built, and in return, you get a commission and your back office link. Now that you’ve been browsing the groups and see what options you have, it’s time to decide. This is the most crucial part, so don’t rush, don’t join a company because the person talking to you just doesn’t seem to take no for an answer. Some people tend to really get in your face, don’t get scared of them.

Take the time to think about what it is that you’re most passionate about, what type of business you would dream of owning, what kind of team do you want to be a part of. There are so many options out there, you just need to find the right one for you.

Now that you’ve decided on the company you want to join, it’s time to get an upline. An upline is the person that recruits you and is meant to nurture you, teach you, help you grow because helping you are supporting their own business, plus the market is not saturated like some people think.

This is another important step, so choose carefully. Ask them how big is their team, ask to join their group, so you get the vibe. Talk to them for a longer period of time, see if you, as people, get along, have similar views of the world, see if you agree with their ethics. Having a good upline with whom you have a good relationship is virtually detrimental to your success.

I’ve seen plenty of cases where the recruiter only wanted numbers and didn’t care about the “numbers” they recruited, and so the people who joined would fail at this fantastic opportunity. Never forget that network marketing is an amazing opportunity. It gives us financial freedom and freedom to work around your family, instead of having family around your work. Needless to say, the recruiter usually fails and drops the business fairly quickly.
